  1. Dear Pietro Beccari, an open letter on Louis Vuitton

Dear Pietro Beccari,

Louis Vuitton, the mega-brand you are managing since January 2023, is the company that drives the success of the first luxury group in the world, LVMH, and it has a long story and an incredible heritage having been established in 1854.

It went through different chapters in its past: from trunks company to cool brand for fashionistas and it has seen, in the past 30 years three CEO with a very different management style.

Yves Carcelle, the gentleman everybody remembers (me too, because I sent him my CV and he answered me with a beautiful letter and a meeting for an interview with the LV HR director) - gone too soon. The smart CEO who used to know every single name of every single employee or store assistant and the one who got LV to the present glory with the unforgettable Marc Jacobs shows and collections. Who cannot love the Stephen Sprouse iconic collection launched at the beginning of the 2000s?

Michael Burke, who I worked with at Fendi, with a totally different style, very energetic and very tyrannic somehow (he surely will smile at this…knowing it’s the truth). The man who took LV to a global expansion, especially in China, able to navigate the stormy diplomatic waters inside the company and the group…and the one who managed to hire Virgil Abloh as Men’s Creative Director.

And you have inherited a big legacy but also all the troubles that were somehow under the carpet. You have developed before Fendi and opened the new HQ at the iconic Palazzo della Civiltà at the EUR in Rome and then you took Maria Grazia Chiuri at Dior and contributed to create a new aesthetics, very linked to the Brand roots anyway and you opened La Galerie Dior, an immersive customer experience that is pretty unique.

It seems that one of your key skills is Branding and Customer Experience that allowed you to climb the career ladder easily and smoothly. You are also a member of the Executive Committee of LVMH.
